A heartwarming picture book that guides children to express and accept emotions
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue...
What color is your mood today?
Our moods change every day.
Sometimes it's happy, like a bright yellow sun;
Sometimes it's sad, like the dark blue sky before rain.
Our emotions change constantly,
even adults sometimes find it difficult to express their feelings clearly.
For children, saying "I'm so sad,"
or understanding "others' feelings are different from mine,"
is actually not an easy task.
Learning to express oneself not only provides an outlet for emotions,
but also helps children understand themselves,
practice respecting others, and foster more harmonious relationships.
Using "colored bubbles" to help children understand emotions
Picture book author Michiko Egashira uses her signature watercolor style,
to metaphorically represent various feelings and emotions with colored bubbles,
and through a series of gentle questions,
guides children step by step to listen to their inner voices.
This book has received praise from kindergarten and elementary school teachers in Japan,
as well as school counselors and other front-line educators.
This is a picture book that can accompany children in understanding emotions,
and also heal the inner child of adults.
We invite you to slow down and read this book,
and together with your children, embrace every emotion.
