About the Founder
Hello, I’m Rachel, the founder of Little Book Project.
Before starting Little Book Project, I worked in website marketing and product licensing for a game startup in the Netherlands. When the pandemic arrived and my child was born, I decided it was time to step away from office life and begin something new.
Living in Europe, I realized how difficult it could be to find thoughtfully made Chinese picture books in stores. Like many new parents, I began exploring the stories we grow up with—how books shape the way children see the world, remember their home languages, and stay connected to the traces of their roots.
In 2021, I started Little Book Project from my own living room. What began as a small personal project slowly grew into a platform where families, book lovers, and creative minds can discover stories, culture, languages, and illustration from different ages and backgrounds.
In many ways, it feels like another baby of mine. It’s still growing, learning, and finding its way—just like any child does. It may not be perfect, but it continues to grow with curiosity, care, and a love for stories every day.
