Public Television's annual educational drama "Your Children Are Not Your Children" is adapted from the original novel
The story of a family held hostage by exams: a tutor's testimony

The storyteller is a witness. She spent seven years opening door after door and entering different families. Behind the door, she witnessed all kinds of bizarre scenes: a mother who prepared chicken essence and vitamins for her son every day, but slapped her son in the face without hesitation when she received his report card; a man who hid in the closet to deceive others and hurt his own son in order to appease his parents; or perhaps, she saw a kind of family affection built up with money... She thought she was a tutor and only needed to bring knowledge to students, but she didn't expect that the students and their families would bring her more shock.

What is the essence of education? Is love conditional?

This book does not give parents dogmatic exhortations and suggestions, but only a series of heart-stirring stories. The reason these stories exist is that we are expected to gaze upon an original intention, calm down, and think carefully about the original intention of bringing children into this world.

    About the Author

    Wu Xiaole

From Taichung. Born in 1989. Graduated from the Law Department of National Taiwan University. Like parrots.

My life was originally going straight. I followed the advice of my relatives and friends and decided not to go down the path of Chinese language. Instead, I chose a bright department, thinking that I would live happily ever after. But I didn't expect that the more I read, the more guilty I felt and the more depressed I became. Shortly after graduation, I made a decision: I would not take the national examination in the short term, nor did I want to work in a law-related job. The moment I made the decision, I felt for the first time that my life was off track and I had lost direction. I met my second student when I was eighteen. The experience we had was so wonderful that from then on I began my life of traveling around teaching in different families.

At the age of 22, I was afraid of sitting at home all day long and daydreaming, so I took on a lot of cases to fill up all my time. Now I'm 25, eight years have passed, and I have a lot of stories. I write while feeling amazed and amused, and while writing I am also repairing myself.
