Explore Taiwan's fruits and land - a food education picture book for parents and children to read together

Summer is here and the fruit cart is here!
What fruit does it carry?

The sun is shining brightly, and there are thunderstorms.
The fruits ripen on the branches,
The watermelon rolls into a lively ladybug,
Mango spreads its wings and flies into a shrike.

Suddenly, a strange black thing floated over.
Planted in the soil, it cannot grow roots.
It won't sprout when soaked in water.
The land has become sick and miserable.

Beep! Beep! Beep!
Summer alert is about to start!

Virtual and real combination
Original story from Taiwan

"Hey!" What is it? 》The prototype of the picture book story is the puppet show "The Story of Seasonal Fruits-Summer Chapter" developed by the children in 2021. The main plot is Taiwanese fruits and seasons. It is based on the creative concept of "close to the land and close to society", and takes the fruits of the four seasons as the protagonists. It uses different angles such as fruits, land, and memory to depict the different styles of the four seasons.

The whole book is written in a simple and rough collage style, with graffiti lines, textures and material stacking to create a childlike atmosphere. By using non-figurative, exaggerated-proportion characters and silhouettes, the book leaves room for readers to interpret and imagine the picture book.

About the Author

Kids/Author

There are no limits on the subject matter, venue, or form, returning to the pure spirit of "play".

As the name "囝仔人" suggests, we hope to keep our childlike innocence and curiosity like children, try various forms of objects, light and shadow, and puppetry, and explore daily details as creative materials to extend the imagination and creation of objects. In addition to drama creation, we also develop themed children's drama course lesson plans that combine regional characteristics and culture, as well as any novel and fun art forms.
