Let’s “eat safely and have a happy new year”

I look forward to the Chinese New Year the most.
There is a sumptuous New Year's Eve dinner to eat;
There are also various candies and snacks!
On the second day of the Chinese New Year, I went to my grandmother's house to pay New Year's greetings.
We also went to a seafood restaurant to enjoy a feast.
A New Year with delicious food every day,
I like it most.

Understanding Chinese New Year culture through food

This picture book shows the life of a little boy during the Chinese New Year along a timeline, starting from New Year's Eve when everyone is busy preparing for the Chinese New Year, to having a reunion dinner, going back to his mother's house for a gathering, and finally learning about Chinese New Year food in different countries. There are many clever little ideas in his daily life.

Food occupies a large part of our lives, especially during the Chinese New Year and other festivals. Eating different foods represents different meanings. Food not only carries local characteristics and culture, but most importantly, it transcends age and borders. This book uses "eating" as the main theme of the story. The delicious dishes are mouth-watering. Let us spend a reunion and a happy new year together!

About the Illustrator

Wood mouth

Life keeps changing. I once played around with design for eight years and drank coffee for a year. Now I am a freelance illustrator. My works are scattered in magazines, publications, textbooks and main visuals of activities, etc. I also post on the Facebook page "Mukouzi" from time to time.
I like to incorporate stories into paintings and hide clues, allowing readers to engage in unique emotional reflections.
