About the Author
Ted Chiang
Jiang Fengnan was born in New York in 1967 and graduated from the Department of Computer Science at Brown University. In 1990, he published his first novel, The Tower of Babylon, which won the Nebula Award. In 2000, he won his second Nebula Award for The Prophecy of Your Life. By 2003, "Hell Where God Is" won the three major awards of the "Hugo Award", "Nebula Award" and "Locus Award".
In his writing, he pursues perfection almost demandingly. Each story has a groundbreaking idea and is carefully crafted after repeated polishing. Therefore, in the 30 years since he started writing, he has only written 17 short and medium-length stories. However, each of his works caused a huge sensation in the science fiction world of the year and swept various awards.
He is the first Chinese in history to win the Hugo Award. So far, he has been nominated 9 times and won 4 times. In addition, he has won four Nebula Awards, four Locus Awards, and 15 major science fiction awards around the world.
