About the Author
Jerry Spinelli / Author
As a child, Spinelli wanted to be a cowboy. Now he's a writer. His first novel, "Seventh Grade Space Station," was published in 1982. He won the Newbery Medal in 1991 for "The Legend of Maniac" and the Silver Medal in 1998 for "The Little Killers." This book is his first for younger children. He currently resides in Pennsylvania with his wife, also a writer.
Jimmy Liao / Illustrator
As a child, Jimmy Liao dreamed of becoming a painter, a magician, and a train driver. Now, he's a picture book author. He's created numerous illustrations and published numerous books, which have been translated into numerous languages. He currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan, with his family and cat.
